Qualifications

• Experience as a Mechanical CAD Engineer or similar role with a drive for innovation.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team to bring engineering concepts to reality.
• Proficient in using 2D CAD systems like AutoCAD for detailed drawings.
• Skilled in 3D CAD/BIM systems such as Revit and Solidworks for dynamic model creation.
• Professionally qualified in an engineering-related field, demonstrating technical expertise.
• Capability or existing SC Clearance to work on security-sensitive projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop integrated layout solutions from the concept stage to construction.
• Create precise CAD models and definitions adhering to industry standards.
• Generate 2D process instrumentation and ventilation system diagrams.
• Assist in managing product data and configurations.
• Conduct peer reviews on models and definitions to ensure quality.
• Set up and maintain CAD environment and documentation standards.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior CAD/BIM team members.

Job Description

Join the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit! Reporting to the CAD Manager, the mechanical CAD engineer is responsible for the delivery of component models and definitions, system P&IDs, integrated layouts, and assemblies for the Small Modular Reactor (SMR). The role will involve developing an understanding of the layout and components within the SMR, collaborating with engineering designers, and generating CAD models and definitions to a high standard.

Your Mission:

• Integrated Layout Design: Develop layout solutions from concept to construction, based on design engineer specifications.
• CAD Modeling: Create component CAD models and definitions adhering to standards.
• Diagram Production: Generate 2D process, instrumentation, and ventilation system diagrams.
• Data Management: Assist in product configuration and data management processes.
• Quality Assurance: Maintain quality by conducting peer reviews of models and component definitions.
• CAD Environment Management: Set up and maintain CAD tools, templates, standards, QA processes, and training materials.
• Team Support: Provide CAD expertise, training, and mentorship to the CAD/BIM team and junior staff members.

• SC Clearance or the capability to achieve it, ensuring readiness for high-security projects.
