Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to be based in Glasgow. The successful candidate will ideally be working towards Chartership and have proven mechanical building services design experience, delivering to quality, time and budget.

Qualifications

• Honors Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
• 3 years post-graduate work experience within a similar consultancy or relevant business.
• To obtain the requisite security clearance for working with Defence Sector clients, candidate must be a British National of at least 5 years unbroken standing.
• Full UK driving licence to enable travel to sites as required.
• UK Passport and clearance to travel abroad to serve clients.
• Ability to attend overnight surveys across the UK and abroad.
• Experience in AutoCAD and Revit software.
• Experience in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience in IES Design Software.

Responsibilities

• Develop specifications, design drawings, calculations and other contract documents through the RIBA work Stages.
• Provide technical services to meet project time and quality requirements.
• Input to pre-qualification and selection of contractors; respond to tender queries and review returns.
• Identify and meet client requirements.
• Perform complex tasks with minimal direction and/or supervision.
• Coordinate design delivery with the Multi-Discipline Design Team.
• Attend site surveys and client concurrence meetings.
• Ensure compliance with statutory/regulatory authorities and obtain approvals.
• Understand and implement AECOM’s Safety Health and Environment Policy.
• Undertake designer’s risk assessments under CDM Regulations.
• Liaise with clients, professional organisations, contractors, suppliers and other designers.
