Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias) – Permanent
Location: Near Bury St Edmunds
Salary: £38,303 + 28 Days Holiday + Pension + Training Opportunities
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (No Shift Work)

Are you a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias looking for a stable, on-site role with excellent benefits and long-term career development? We seek a skilled and proactive engineer to join our team at a distribution centre near Bury St Edmunds.

The Role: As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our site by carrying out repairs, servicing, and general maintenance. Your day-to-day duties will include:

  1. Maintenance and repair of loading bays and tail lifters
  2. General building maintenance across the facility
  3. Operating a forklift truck (license preferred but training can be provided)
  4. Welding tasks (desirable but not essential)
  5. Training provided on refrigeration systems for future career progression

What We’re Looking For:

  1. NVQ or City & Guilds qualification in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical)
  2. Experience in a factory, warehouse, or distribution environment
  3. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  4. Forklift experience (or willingness to be trained)
  5. Welding experience (a bonus but not essential)
