Job description

Job Title: Mechanical-Bias Maintenance Engineer
Location: Aberdare
Shift Pattern: Rotational shift pattern.

Monday to Thursday 6am – 6pm

Monday to Thursday 6pm – 6am
Salary: up to 40k

The Role:

We’re looking for a mechanically-bias Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of our production equipment through proactive maintenance, fault-finding, and repair.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on machinery and equipment.
  • Respond to breakdowns quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct mechanical repairs and improvements across a range of machinery (conveyors, pumps, hydraulics, gearboxes, etc.).
  • Support electrical maintenance tasks where needed (basic fault finding, sensor checks, etc.).
  • Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to improve plant reliability.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and adhere to safety standards.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Time-served engineer or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong mechanical background with experience in industrial or manufacturing settings.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Team player with a proactive attitude toward continuous improvement and safety.
