Job summary

Kingston Barnes Ltd in Bristol is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician to build systems, sub-assemblies and parts to the required quality levels and ISO standards. You will ensure BOM and customer specs are met and contribute to on-time build schedules.

You will identify and resolve build problems, report issues using FRACAS, maintain safety and 5S standards, train junior technicians, and support continuous improvement within the Production Team.

Qualifications

• Mechanical assembly or fitting experience.
• Experience reading mechanical engineering drawings.
• Experience in a workshop environment or similar.

Responsibilities

• Build systems, sub‑assemblies and parts for complex systems to the required quality levels and ISO standards.
• Ensure that the BOM and customer specification are achieved.
• Identify and resolve build problems.
• Report technical issues and record using the FRACAS process.
• Maintain your levels of technical competence by undertaking training.
• Act as a reference to ensure technicians are aware of the build sequence.
• Train and guide less experienced technicians.
• Maintain build cleanliness, housekeeping and health and safety; promote 5S initiatives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement within the Production Team.
