Mechanical Assembly Operative - Loughborough

What's the Opportunity?


We are looking for an experience Mechanical Assembly Operative to join a workshop team in Loughborough due to business growth. The business design and manufacture their own product distributing to clients across the globe.




Hourly Rate: £12.50 (with increases based on experience)


Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent


Working Hours:




  • Monday to Thursday: 7:00am - 4:00pm




  • Friday: 7:00am - 1:30pm




  • Regular overtime available, including Saturday mornings




Key Responsibilities:




  • Mechanical assembly of low-voltage switchgear and control panels




  • Use of hand and power tools to fit, drill, tap, and align components




  • Reading and working from engineering drawings and build instructions




  • Quality-checking assemblies to ensure accuracy and compliance




  • Supporting wiring layout and enclosure preparation




  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workspace




  • Participating in site work and installations across the UK, with occasional overnight stays




Requirements:




  • Interest or experience in mechanical assembly




  • Confident in the use of hand tools and mechanical fixing methods




  • Ability to identify and resolve problems during the assembly process




  • Willingness to travel and work overtime when required




  • Strong awareness of health and safety practices




  • Able to work independently and as part of a team




  • Must have the permanent right to work in the UK
