Job summary

CMD Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Assembler in Calne to join a busy engineering environment. The role involves dismantling and assembling large mechanical units, using hand tools, replacing faulty parts and testing refurbished units.

Candidates should have engineering experience, mechanical assembly skills, and good manual dexterity. Teamwork and clear communication are essential for successful operation on day shifts (07:00–15:30 Mon–Thu, 07:00–12:00 Fri).

Mechanical Assembler

Location: Calne

Pay rate: £14.40 p/h

Type: Ongoing Contract

Working pattern - Monday to Friday DAYS

Our client, are a leading engineering company who manufacture/refurbish engineering parts for the rail industry supplying a global client base.

Due to an increase in the workload they are now looking to recruit additional Mechanical Assemblers to join their business unit in Calne.

Responsibilities:

• The dismantling and assembling of large mechanical units.
• Using a variety of hands tools to aid the dismantling of the units.
• Replacement of faulty parts
• Testing of refurbished units
• Cleaning and improving areas of the site

Skills/Experience required:

• Experience within an Engineering environment.
• Mechanical assembly skills
• Manual dexterity to handle tools and components.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

This position will see you working a 37-hour week on days 07:00 - 15:30 Monday Thursday and 07:00 - 12:00 Friday.
