Job summary

CMD Recruitment in Melksham is seeking an Assembly Operative for an ongoing temporary contract in a busy rail-industry engineering and manufacturing environment. The role involves stripping down, cleaning and refurbishing brake calipers and related components, with full training provided.

You will work 06:00-14:00 or 14:00-00:00 on weekdays, with rotating weeks, and the position is full-time in a dirty, noisy workshop requiring hands-on mechanical work.

Qualifications

• Mechanical, assembly, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience using hand tools (spanners, torque wrenches, etc.)
• Ability to follow instructions and processes
• Good attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a dirty/noisy workshop environment
• Confident using hand tools

We are recruiting for an Assembly Operative / Strip & Clean Operatives to join a leading engineering and manufacturing company within the rail industry.

This is a hands-on, physical role working in a dirty and noisy workshop environment, stripping down, cleaning, and refurbishing brake calipers and related components.

This role is ideal for candidates with mechanical, assembly, production, manufacturing, or hands-on experience, as well as those with a strong work ethic looking to develop technical skills. Full training is provided.

Key Duties:
