Job summary

A facilities management company in Southampton is looking for a Mechanical and Air Conditioning Engineer to perform maintenance tasks across local sites. The role requires relevant qualifications, effective communication skills, and the ability to work safely. Qualifications

• A suitable City and Guilds or equivalent NVQ qualification is essential.
• Recognised Health & Safety training is necessary.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction is a must.
• A valid UK driving licence and DBS checks where required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across sites.
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet deadlines.
• Service various air conditioning systems and equipment.
• Communicate any serious or potential issues to management.
• Service air handling units, fan converters and extractor fans
• Use of Building and Management Systems
• Always work safely, including working at height as required
• Liaise with site staff to gain access to sites and rooms to carry out maintenance tasks
• Liaise with sub-contractors to complete necessary repairs as required
• Any other tasks within skill set/experience
• Participation on the On-Call Rota
• Communicate any serious or potential issues to SCC and line managers
• Represent the company professionally and courteously

Job Summary
Due to ongoing growth, Corrigenda is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Mechanical / AC engineer to carry out a broad range of planned and reactive mechanical/plumbing & AC tasks across Southampton City Council and local sites. There will be times when OOH work is required to complete servicing due to access restrictions, as well as being on a callout rota (minimum 1 in 5)

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the estate (within capabilities and training)
• Work on own or as part of team to meet required deadlines and contract performance standards
• Work flexible working hours to suit business requirements
• Carry out planned and fault diagnostic work to various air conditioning systems and equipment such as split, VRV and VRF and heat pumps
• Service air handling units, fan converters and extractor fans
• Use of Building and Management Systems
• Always work safely, including working at height as required
• Liaise with site staff to gain access to sites and rooms to carry out maintenance tasks
• Liaise with sub-contractors to complete necessary repairs as required
• Any other tasks required by company within skill set / experience
• Participation on the On-Call Rota
• Communicate any serious or potential issues to SCC and line managers
• Always represent the company in a professional and friendly manner

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications

• Essential
• A suitable City and Guilds or equivalent NVQ qualification
• Recognised Health & Safety training
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction
• Be able to operate SMART devices and complete electronic documentation
• Full UK driving licence
• Pass DBS / Police background checks for working in schools / Police stations
