Qualifications

  • Knowledge of vehicles and plant required for servicing and repairs.
  • City & Guilds qualification in commercial vehicle repairs is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Servicing and repairing fleet vehicles including HGVs.

Job description

Mechanic/ Workshop Fitter

Location: Lyppard Bourne, WR4 0AA

Working Hours: 40 hrs per week (Start Time 8am) Mon - Fri

Pay Rate: £16.71 per hour

Temp - Perm position!!!

Ringway Worcester is looking for Mechanics to join its team! The successful candidate will be servicing and repairing our fleet of vehicles (including HGVs) and maintaining our high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepared to work varying hours to meet the needs of the business
  2. Willingness to apply skills to a variety of tasks, with changing team members, providing support to others
  3. Prepared to develop and undertake relevant training and qualifications
  4. Able to complete record sheets, paper or electronic
  5. Courteous and prompt telephone manner
  6. Able to take responsibility for plant, equipment and vehicle defect inspections
  7. To understand and be responsible for their own safety and that of others
  8. To be available for emergency and/or winter call outs
  9. Ability to use own initiative
  10. Promote safe working practices and ensure Health and Safety
  11. To undertake servicing and repairs to all equipment in line with the manufacturer's instructions at any designated workshop facilities.
  12. Be able to work on own initiative and plan own workload
  13. Willingness to undergo specialist equipment training by equipment manufacturer.
  14. To willingly carry out any reasonable task as requested by a member of management
  15. Keeping all promises within deadlines agreed
  16. Consistently working at a level consistent with, or higher than, agreed divisional service level
  17. To actively foster a positive staff morale

Key Skills:
  1. Knowledge of Vehicles and Plant.
  2. City & Guilds in commercial/plant vehicle repairs equivalent and LGV Class 1 or 2 and CPC in transport.
  3. Banksman
  4. Manual Handling
  5. Abrasive Wheels
  6. Current Driving License
  7. CSCS card if client requirement
  8. Minimum level of everyday behaviour as set out in the company behaviours matrix
  9. HGV
  10. Emergency First Aid
