Dual Skilled Technician - Heavy Engineering - West Yorkshire

The Role

As a Dual Skilled Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining critical assets, covering both mechanical and electrical maintenance on heavy-duty machinery, specialist vehicles, and related systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Performing planned inspections, servicing, and overhauls on large mechanical and electrical systems.
  2. Diagnosing faults and repairing braking, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems.
  3. Replacing and installing components such as motors, actuators, switchgear, and control panels.
  4. Following technical documentation and schematics to ensure high standards of maintenance.
  5. Completing condition checks and ensuring all work complies with safety, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  6. Maintaining accurate records and collaborating within a skilled engineering team.

This role operates on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, with 12-hour shifts and regular overtime opportunities.

About You

This position is suitable for individuals experienced in heavy engineering or vehicle environments, including HGVs, plant machinery, aerospace, industrial maintenance, or similar sectors.

You will need:

  • Qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering (Degree, C&G, HND, or HNC).
  • Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Proven experience maintaining or overhauling heavy equipment or vehicles.
  • A reliable, safety-conscious attitude with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and support operational needs.
  • Completion of pre-employment checks, including medical assessment, drug and alcohol screening, and DBS.
