Job Outline: Mechanic/Vehicle Technician

Location: Blackpool – Layton Depot, Plymouth Road, FY3 7HW

• Work Schedule:
• Tuesday: 5AM until 2PM
• Wednesday-Thursday: 8AM until 5PM
• Friday (Week 1): 5AM until 10AM
• Friday (Week 2): 10AM until 3:30PM

Role Purpose:

• Carry out routine repairs, inspections, and maintenance for all vehicle types.
• Repair and maintain trade-specific or specialised power tools, plant, and equipment.
• Ensure adherence to Health and Safety regulations at all times.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow work programmes and determine the best approach within Enveco’s procedures and best practices.
• Resolve straightforward problems and modify work as needed without waiting for instructions.
• Identify and repair issues with vehicles and HGVs to DVSA standards, ensuring readiness for use.
• Maintain fleet of plant, agriculture, and horticulture units to HSE and Enveco standards.
• Use diagnostic equipment and practical skills to identify and repair problems within agreed timescales.
• Refer complex problems with wider implications or costs to a supervisor.
• Perform HGV MOTs to required standards to maintain operator compliance and avoid licensing risks.
• Complete paperwork daily in line with compliance requirements.
