Shifts:
- Day shift: Mon-Thurs 6.30am - 2.30pm, Fri 6.30am - 2pm
- Backshift: Mon-Thurs 10.00am - 6.30pm, Fri 6.30am - 11.30am
Applications are sought for a suitably qualified & experienced LGV / Plant Mechanic, based at our fleet workshops at the Hilton Depot in Bishopbriggs.
This role involves the day-to-day maintenance and repair of the Council's Plant & Vehicle Fleet. Reporting to the workshop coordinator, duties include servicing, inspection, and maintenance of vehicles & plant to industry standards, ensuring all work is of the highest standard and vehicles & plant are always roadworthy. A standby service is in operation, and the successful candidate will be on an emergency call-out rota.
PVG / Disclosure Scotland
All roles within East Dunbartonshire Council requiring PVG/Disclosure checks will adhere to the following:
- If the post is considered Regulated Work under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007, successful candidates must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check before employment is confirmed.
- The cost of the check will be deducted from the first salary; in some cases, this may be deducted in installments following employment start, with approval from HR.
- If an employee leaves before full payment, the remaining amount will be deducted from the final salary.
