Job summary

Gama Aviation seeks an Aircraft Mechanic for our Bournemouth base. You will perform maintenance, repairs and modifications across a range of modern business jets and turboprops, with opportunities to progress towards an Aircraft Engineers License.

You will record tasks on worksheets, ensure compliance with GAEL MOE, HSE policies, and company procedures, and participate in ongoing training and development. The role offers a structured shift pattern and career growth within a respected

Qualifications

  • City and Guilds or diploma in aircraft engineering or relevant technical apprenticeship.
  • 2 years experience in a 145 base or line support environment on business jets or General Aviation aircraft.
  • Demonstrated ability across mechanical, structural, and powerplant tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance, repairs, and modifications of aircraft and systems as allocated.
  • Record details of tasks on worksheets with time booking.
  • Utilise downtime to support maintenance, facility cleanliness, and personal development.
  • Comply with GAEL Maintenance Organisation Exposition and company HSE policies.
  • Adhere to Staff Company Handbook and other procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required.

We are continuing to grow and expand, with exciting contracts being secured; we have recently been selected to be an Authorized Service Centre by Embraer, who set an understandably high bar to become part of their global network.In light of this fantastic news, we are seeking an Aircraft Mechanic to join our dynamic and progressive Engineering Team at our modern base facility in Bournemouth.   • Carry out assigned maintenance, repairs, and modification of aircraft and associated system as allocated
  • Clearly record on worksheets details of the tasks completed, accurately reflecting the works performed with time booking
  • When not assigned aircraft, fully utilise available time productively to support the maintenance and cleanliness of the facility, and personal development for career growth
  • Comply with all procedures detailed within the GAEL Maintenance Organisation Exposition
  • Comply with all company health and safety policies, procedures and COSHH requirements
  • Comply with all procedures listed in the current Staff Company Handbook
  • Any other duties commensurate with the position

Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:

  • At least 2 years recent experience of working in a Base or Line Support 145 organisation in a business jet or General Aviation Environment
  • Completed a City and Guilds or diploma equivalent in aircraft engineering or relevant technical apprenticeship and/or trade qualifications
  • Can demonstrate a high level of skill across multiple disciplines, such as mechanical, structural, and power plant tasks
