Mechanic / Mechanical Technician / Rotating Equipment Technician required to join a leading aftermarketengineering company based in Pearland, TX.
Mechanic / Rotating Equipment Technician will be responsible for mechanical disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of industrial rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, expanders, gearboxes, and blowers. This is a hands-on role in a low-volume, high-mix environment supporting critical repair and overhaul operations for a broad range of turbomachinery.

- Perform detailed mechanical work on a variety of rotating equipment: centrifugal pumps, screw compressors, gearboxes, multi-stage turbines, blowers, and expanders
- Complete “as received” photo documentation and visual inspections on incoming assemblies and spare parts
- Disassemble and evaluate rotating equipment, documenting failure modes and wear patterns
- Clean and prep components for non-destructive testing (NDT), positive material identification (PMI), and precision measurements
- Conduct detailed dimensional inspections including runouts, concentricity, and clearance measurements
- Produce clear and accurate inspection reports with recommended repairs and replacement part lists
- Provide written instructions, sketches, and technical notes to support internal repair or fabrication processes
- Carry out final assembly of rotating equipment to OEM, ASME, API, or customer-specific specifications
- Perform hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing per customer requirements
- Work closely with machinists, QA, and engineering teams throughout the inspection and repair cycle
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-conscious work environment
Mechanic / Rotating Equipment Technician / Rotating Equipment Technician Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED required
- 5–10 years of mechanical experience with industrial rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, gearboxes, turbines, etc.)
- Proficient with mechanical measuring tools: micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, calipers
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, P&IDs, and technical documentation
- Skilled with hand tools, lifting equipment, and flame heating tools (propane/acetylene)
- Basic computer and math skills
- Strong attention to detail and safety-first mindset
- Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Physically fit and able to lift, bend, stand, and work hands-on in a busy shop environment
- Positive attitude with a willingness to collaborate, mentor, and learn from others
