Job description

Duration:

3 Months with potential extension

Position:

Opus People Solutions is recruiting on behalf of Wyre Forest District Council for a Mechanic on a temporary ongoing basis.

Requirements:

• Must hold a current Full Driving Licence
• Hold a Class C vocational licence
• Experience as a Motor Vehicle Mechanic or recognized qualification

Job Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the maintenance and servicing of the Authority's vehicles and plant as scheduled
2. Undertake safety and service inspections in line with Department of Transport requirements
3. Prepare vehicles for M.O.T. and 'Plating' examinations as required
4. Perform repairs on vehicles and other fleet assets, both in the workshop and on the highway
5. Undertake mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic repairs
6. Maintain a tidy and safe work area
7. Collaborate with colleagues to provide efficient service to all sections of the Authority
8. Handle equipment, tools, chemicals, and materials according to Health & Safety at Work Act and COSHH regulations
9. Be aware of and work in accordance with Health & Safety/Risk Assessments documents and Safe Working Practices
10. Perform any other duties as required by the Director of Community Well-being and Environment
