Job description

Mechanic based in Woking with some multi-site travel as and when required.

Mechanic Benefits:

  • Salary: 32k to 38k DOE plus quarterly performance bonus scheme

  • Location Woking but may be required to travel to sites in Harpenden, Dartford, St Albans, Bristol and High Wycombe.
  • Access to a company vehicle for travelling to other sites
  • Monday to Friday - 6:30am - 14:00pm
  • 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Mechanic Role Purpose:

Reporting to the Workshop & Equipment Manager, we are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and professional individual to join our client's expanding team, which is committed to consistently delivering service excellence. The role will include preventative maintenance, servicing and repair to an extensive fleet of golf course maintenance equipment. This role will require both on-site and off-site maintenance.

Mechanic Key Duties:

  • Inspects, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various golf course maintenance equipment, including diesel, electric- and gasoline-powered automobiles, mowers, tractors, rollers and other mechanical equipment used in utility work.
  • Completes regular servicing of all equipment and sharpening of mowing equipment.
  • Executes job cards for works completed.
  • Complies with all legislation and regulations including provisions contained in the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.

Mechanic Role Specific Skills:

  • Mechanical experience.
  • Electro-hydraulic experience is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in a mechanical role.
  • Hold a full driving licence.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Desirable skills but not essential:

  • Be proficient using operating reel and bed knife grinders.
  • Welding/fabrication experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical, electronic and hydraulic systems.
  • Practical experience in green keeping and/or working with golf course equipment.
  • Holds a trailer licence.

Additional Attributes:

  • Keen attention to detail with the ability to produce a high standard of work.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records.
