Job summary

Arnold Clark Group in Dumfries is seeking a skilled Mechanic to prepare vehicles for the road, perform servicing and repairs, and maintain high standards across a wide range of models. You will work within a supportive team and keep up to date with the latest vehicle technology.

We offer a competitive salary of £40,000–£50,000 DOE, overtime paid at time and a half, 33 days annual leave, private healthcare, maternity/paternity packages, toolbox cover, and access to EV accredited training.

Qualifications

• A certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3 and solid work experience in the automotive industry.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a busy team.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work to deadlines and to high standards.
• Proactive and enthusiastic approach.
• Full driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards.
• Inspecting vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately using diagnostic equipment.
• Repairing or replacing broken or defective parts.
• Carrying out DVSA vehicle testing (if authorised).
• Road testing vehicles to check repairs.
• Maintaining equipment and making sure tools are in good condition.
• Following checklists and completing documentation to required standard.
