Job summary

Arnold Clark in Carlisle is seeking a skilled mechanic to service and repair vehicles across our Hyundai, Geely and Vanstore brands. You will diagnose issues with precision and work on an exciting mix of models, advancing your skills in modern vehicle technology.

Qualifications

• A certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3 and solid work experience in the automotive industry.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a busy team.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to work to high standards and deadlines.
• Proactive and enthusiastic approach.
• Ability to follow written and spoken instructions.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards.
• Inspect engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately, using computer-based diagnostic equipment.
• Repair or replace broken or defective parts.
• Carry out DVSA vehicle testing (if authorised).
• Road test vehicles to check repairs.
• Maintain equipment and ensure tools are in good condition.
• Follow checklists to ensure all procedures are completed.
• Complete all documentation to the required standard.
