Job summary

Gama Aviation Bournemouth is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic to join our Engineering Team at our modern base facility. You will carry out maintenance, repairs and modifications on business jets and turboprops, and record the work on worksheets with accurate time bookings.

Qualifications

• 2+ years recent experience in a base/line support 145 organisation within business jet or general aviation environment.
• City and Guilds or diploma equivalent in aircraft engineering or relevant technical apprenticeship/qualification.
• Demonstrable multi-discipline skills across mechanical, structural and powerplant tasks.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, repairs and modifications of aircraft and related systems as allocated.
• Record tasks on worksheets with accurate time booking and reflect the work performed.
• Utilise downtime to support maintenance, cleanliness of the facility and personal development.

Gama Aviation is a very reputable Business Aviation company, working on both fixed wing and rotary aircrafts. We are continuing to grow and expand, with exciting contracts being secured; we have recently been selected to be an Authorized Service Centre by Embraer, who set an understandably high bar to become part of their global network. In light of this fantastic news, we are seeking an Aircraft Mechanic to join our dynamic and progressive Engineering Team at our modern base facility in Bournemouth.

You will be working on a full range of modern Business Jets and Turboprops, you can gain valuable experience and potentially work towards gaining your Aircraft Engineers License.

Main Responsibilities

• Carry out assigned maintenance, repairs, and modification of aircraft and associated system as allocated
• Clearly record on worksheets details of the tasks completed, accurately reflecting the works performed with time booking
• When not assigned aircraft, fully utilise available time productively to support the maintenance and cleanliness of the facility, and personal development for career growth
• Comply with all procedures detailed within the GAEL Maintenance Organisation Exposition
• Comply with all company health and safety policies, procedures and COSHH requirements
• Comply with all procedures listed in the current Staff Company Handbook
• Any other duties commensurate with the position

Skills, Qualifications and Experience required

• At least 2 years recent experience of working in a Base or Line Support 145 organisation in a business jet or General Aviation Environment
• Completed a City and Guilds or diploma equivalent in aircraft engineering or relevant technical apprenticeship and/or trade qualifications
• Can demonstrate a high level of skill across multiple disciplines, such as mechanical, structural, and power plant tasks
