Gama Aviation in Glasgow is seeking a UK CAA B1.3 Licensed Engineer, ideally with an H145 type rating, to join our engineering team on a 5-5-4 shift pattern. The role requires flexibility, strong communication, and readiness to travel as part of the Engineering Group.

Standards include maintaining valid licences and ratings, complying with regulatory requirements, and delivering safe, quality maintenance with professional customer liaison.

Qualifications

• UK CAA Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence category B1.3.
• Type rated on the H145.
• Willing to travel; role is shift-based at Glasgow HQ with occasional travel.
• Knowledge of aircraft maintenance regulations, Health & Safety and Human Factors.

Responsibilities

• Complete all allocated, planned and ad-hoc maintenance tasks.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Maintain the required engineering licence and type rating; keep licences and ratings up to date.
• Provide professional communication with customers and contacts.
• Accurately log timekeeping in the applicable software system.
• Carry out work safely considering risks to people, property and reputation.
• Report defects to Maintenance Manager or Central Planning Department.
• Report Health and Safety or Flight Safety issues via the company system.

As part of this role, you must be prepared to work flexibly as part of a team and as an integral part of the Gama Aviation Engineering Group, possessing strong communication, organisation and leadership skills. To be considered for this position you will hold a UK CAA B1.3 Licence, preferably with the following type rating:

H145 – Potential type rate training

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the successful completion of all allocated, planned and ad-hoc maintenance tasks
• Ensure correct compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
• Maintain the required engineering licence and applicable type rating as required to perform duties and be responsible for ensuring licences and type ratings do not lapse and are kept up to date
• Accountable for providing professional communication with customers and contacts as required
• Individual responsibility for booking accurate, and consistent timekeeping in applicable software system
• Completion of work in a safe and appropriate manner considering risk to personnel, property and reputation
• Reporting defects to the Maintenance Manager or Central Planning Department
• Reporting issues regarding matters of Health and Safety or Flight Safety, via the Company’s reporting system

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience

• A UK CAA Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence category B1.3
• Type rated on the H145
• The ability to work alone and the willingness to travel. This role is shift based primarily at our Glasgow HQ but may require the occasional travel.
• A good working knowledge of the regulations and requirements associated with aircraft maintenance, Health & Safety and Human Factors
