Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Harrogate

Overview: Mechanical Design Engineer required for an exciting, challenging, and interesting role in an innovative company delivering specialist engineered solutions to global customers. The role includes customer presentation, project management, research & development, building and testing of both standard and new projects from initial brief through to production.

The Role:

• Working closely with the engineering manager and the design team to develop new products to meet client specifications
• Undertake re-engineering and improvements on existing products
• Manage design projects into full production
• R&D, costings and after sales support
• Building and testing of prototypes
• Producing relevant quality and product documentation
• Producing designs and drawings using SolidWorks
• Undertaking analytical research, calculations, simulation and testing
• Working to ISO and industry quality standards

The Person:

• A proven background in Mechanical Design ideally working with SolidWorks
• A confident understanding of manufacturing processes and system integration
• The ability to manage your own projects
• A Mechanical engineering degree or higher
• Working knowledge of DFM & DFA practices
• Confident knowledge of Electro Mechanical design
• The ability to work in a rapid design and development environment
