NES Group Ltd is recruiting Mechanical Fitters for nuclear shutdown projects across Hartlepool, Heysham and Torness in 2027. Roles involve steam and generator experience and working across multiple sites where shifts run 10.5 hours per day with 12 on/2 off.

A lodge allowance is payable and CTC security clearance will be arranged ahead of start. Candidates must meet NAECI grade expectations (Grade 5 trades / Grade 3 semi-skilled operatives) and be prepared to undergo the clearance process in

Qualifications

• Experience as Mechanical Fitter on steam and generator systems.
• Willing to work across multiple UK sites during 2027 shutdowns.
• NAECI rate structure applies: Grade 5 trades / Grade 3 semi-skilled operatives.

Responsabilités

• Carry out mechanical fit-out, assembly and maintenance on shutdown equipment.
• Work across Hartlepool, Heysham and Torness shutdown schedules.
• Adhere to site safety rules and NAECI guidelines.

We’re now looking to register interest from candidates for a number of nuclear shutdown projects taking place across three UK nuclear sites throughout 2027.

There is also the opportunity to move from one shutdown (TAR) to the next, potentially keeping you working across multiple sites throughout the year.

Shutdown Schedule

• Hartlepool: 1 March – 4 June 2027
• Heysham: 10 May – 27 August 2027
• Torness: 16 August – 12 November 2027

Working Arrangements & Rates

• 10.5 hours per day
• 12 days on / 2 days off
• NAECI rates apply – Grade 5 trades and Grade 3 semi-skilled operatives
• Lodge allowance payable

Security Clearance

CTC security clearance will be required before starting. Don't worry if you don't already hold clearance, as we will put candidates through the process ahead of their start date.
