MCS Electrician

Contract Outline:

Role: MCS Electrician / Engineer
Sector: Battery Energy / Solar
Location: London area (mostly remote)
Contract Length: 6 month initial (long-term extension possible)
IR35: Small business exempt / Outside
Rate: TBC (open to discussion)

Part-time contract (20 hours).
This is a unique and really interesting position for an innovative and proactive person, to make an impact in a start-up environment.

Role Overview:

Act as the Qualified Technical Person (QTP) for MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) purposes - overseeing all technical aspects of certification.
Design residential and commercial battery systems.
Conduct surveys (remote and on-site).
Lead and manage G98/G99 applications and approvals.

Essential Skills:

1. Experience as a certified Electrician / Engineer working under MCS.
2. Strong technical competence in battery storage and/or solar PV, in line with MCS standards.
3. Proactive mindset.
4. Fluency with digital tools and a dislike for paper-based processes.
5. Access to a vehicle for site visits (when required).
