Job description

Rate: £22.27 Monday to Friday and £27.31 Weekend + lodge allowance - £55.00 per day

Start Date: 5th September 2022

Duration: 4 Months

Hours: 10 hours per day Monday to Saturday - 60 hours per week - up to 70

The Role

We have a requirement for Coded Welders to work on a heavy industrial project in the Isle of Grain. The work will involve the erection of a steel chimney both at ground level and also working at height. Works on the ground will be welding and installation of ladders and platforms with access mainly from scissor lifts and cherry pickers.

We will be asking the welders to undertake a coupon test using a carbon steel pipe around 300mm diameter (the smallest diameter which it can be possible to fit ceramic backing from the inside), with a thickness of 12mm or over, and be welded using 138 processes in position H-L045 (6G), from the outside only. The minimum total length will be 250mm, it means, 125mm each piece of pipe.
