Job summary

Saab UK is a leading defence and security company, employing 600+ across eight UK sites, with expertise in software, underwater robotics, radars, AI and more. This role sits in the Saab Seaeye unit in Fareham, focusing on system engineering and MBSE to deliver complex products on time and budget.

You will bridge mechanical, electrical, electronic and software domains, capturing and tracing customer requirements through the full lifecycle of R&D and product development.

Qualifications

• Degree or similar in engineering discipline.
• >2 years’ experience in system related role.
• Knowledge of system engineering principles and requirements capture.
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
• Good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer needs into engineering system solutions via requirements capture, use-cases and systems architecture design.
• Develop and maintain SysML models representing system structure, behaviour, interfaces and requirements.
• Ensure complete requirements traceability from capture to verification.
• Administer system engineering databases and repositories.
• Maintain the system architecture design across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Provide cradle-to-grave systems support throughout lifecycle: definition to delivery.
• Proactively manage change throughout development lifecycle.
• Design robust architectures spanning electrical, mechanical and software interfaces.
