The Role

We are looking for a capable and motivated Mazak 5-Axis CNC Operator to join our precision machining team. The role involves operating CNC milling machines with Mazatrol controls to produce high-quality components in batch sizes ranging from 1 to 150 units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC milling machines equipped with Mazatrol controls
• Machine components from engineering drawings, ensuring adherence to specified tolerances (typically ±0.05mm)
• Work with a variety of materials including aluminium and mild steel
• Set up tools and work holding fixtures and perform basic in-process inspection
• Interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications
• Monitor machining processes to ensure quality and efficiency are maintained
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding workflow, tooling, and quality concerns

Skills & ExperienceRequired:

• Proven experience operating CNC machining centres (experience with Mazak / Mazatrol is beneficial but not essential)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Good understanding of CNC programs, machine operation, and tool measurement
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards

Desirable:

• Previous experience operating 5-axis CNC machining centres
• Familiarity with Mazak machines and Mazatrol controls
• Experience in CAD/CAM programming (advantageous but not essential)
