An exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident highly motivated and inspirational Senior Nurse to join our Paediatric department to look after the planned care element of the business unit, which includes but not exclude to; outpatient areas, paediatric community based services, and specialist nursing. You must possess strong leadership qualities and have a passion to foster a culture which values the delivery of high-quality care for children and young people.

As a professional lead you will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational skills as well as leading, supporting education, ensuring clinical quality standards are achieved and influencing and leading change.

The post offers an opportunity to develop and shape the paediatric department and to work alongside the other Paediatric Matrons.

Reporting to the Divisional Nurse director for Woman's and Children's division, ensuring we are delivering high quality care for children and young people.

The role of Matron is essential to the success of the care pathways in influencing and working with the multidisciplinary and management teams and leading the Nursing workforce to provide a quality service essential to a positive patient experience. Your key role will be to ensure clinical quality standards are achieved by providing inspirational and visible clinical leadership to the nursing teams. The role is based within an acute hospital setting but as patient pathways and services develop, further links may need to be forged outside of the acute hospitals.

To carry out this challenging role, you will provide leadership and direction and will be expected to have experience of managing operational services, workforce, and education issues. This role will include overall day-to-day responsibility, visible leadership for the nursing teams whilst ensuring efficient and effective management of complex operational and professional issues to ensure high quality, safe clinical care, and patient experience.
