We are looking for a senior experienced dynamic midwife to join the team as a Matron for Maternity Services. We need someone who possesses strong clinical leadership with excellent communication and networking skills.
You need to be self motivated, enthusiastic and have a drive for continuous improvement in maternity safety and experience. You will have responsibility to provide cost effective clinical services within midwifery and work collaboratively within the division.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead and facilitate the development of efficient, effective and patient focused services for women and children receiving care within the division. Through strong clinical leadership the Matron will support the teams to promote excellence in nursing and midwifery care to maintain and improve clinical standards. The post holder will ensure that all patients are treated with compassion, dignity and respect placing value on the diversity of the local community and beyond. Partnership working is a priority in supporting the delivery of a seamless and integrated service. Patient experience is a key responsibility of the role to ensure that care is delivered to the highest quality inspiring patient and public confidence. This will be achieved through high visibility, effective communication, accessibility and surveillance. At all times, the post holder will work in accordance with the principles governed by the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) and Trust Policies. Acting with professionalism and integrity, you will be a role model to those around us and ensuring everyone has an equal opportunity.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) King’s Lynn is located near some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK, along the north Norfolk coast, and not far from Sandringham House.
We provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community-based healthcare services to around 331,000 people across west and north Norfolk, in addition to parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire and South Lincolnshire.
We have more than 4,000 staff and volunteers, approximately 530 beds, and a helipad for air ambulances. We work with neighbouring hospitals for the provision of tertiary services, including as part of regional partnership and network models of care, such as the trauma network.
In February 2022 the significant progress that has been made at QEH was recognised by the Care Quality Commission who rated the Trust as ‘Good’ in all of the core services they inspected. They recommended the Trust moves out of the recovery support system (formerly special measures).
