Job summary

Artemis Human Capital is seeking a qualified Matrimonial Solicitor in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, with a minimum of 3 years’ PQE to join a specialist matrimonial team. You will take responsibility for your own caseload, advising clients through divorce, separation and financial settlements.

The practice handles high-value, complex matters involving business interests, pensions, trusts and other assets, with emphasis on expert drafting, negotiation and client care in a supportive environment.

Matrimonial Solicitor – 3+ PQE

Lisburn | Northern Ireland

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Matrimonial Solicitor with 3+ PQE to join an established and highly experienced matrimonial practice in Lisburn.

This is a great opportunity for a solicitor looking to develop their career within a specialist matrimonial environment, working on a varied caseload that includes divorce, separation, financial settlements and complex ancillary relief matters.

The team has particular experience acting on high-value and complex matrimonial cases, including matters involving business interests, private company shareholdings, agricultural and farm partnership interests, inherited and trust-held assets and pensions.

The Role

The successful candidate will take responsibility for their own caseload, advising clients throughout the matrimonial process and working on matters ranging from straightforward divorces and separations through to complex financial disputes.

Your work will include:

• Managing a caseload of matrimonial matters from instruction through to conclusion.

• Advising on divorce and separation.

• Handling financial settlements and ancillary relief proceedings.

• Dealing with the division of matrimonial and non-matrimonial assets.

• Advising on pensions, property, business interests, trusts and other complex financial assets.

• Drafting petitions, pleadings, statements, agreements and court documentation.

• Conducting negotiations and working towards settlement where appropriate.

• Preparing cases for court and attending hearings.

• Liaising with counsel and other professional advisers, including accountants, actuaries and business valuers.

• Providing clear, commercially minded and pragmatic advice to clients throughout what can be a particularly challenging period.

About You

We are looking for a qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3 years’ PQE, with solid experience in matrimonial law.

You will ideally have:

• Strong experience in divorce and matrimonial finance.

• Experience handling ancillary relief/financial settlement matters.

• Experience managing your own caseload with a high degree of autonomy.

• Excellent drafting, negotiation and client management skills.

• Strong attention to detail, particularly when dealing with complex financial information.

• Confidence dealing with high-value or contentious matrimonial matters.

• Good advocacy and court experience, or a strong interest in developing this further.

• A professional, empathetic and practical approach to client care.
