MATLAB/Simulink Specialist - Motorsport Simulation / Vehicle Dynamics - Fully Remote

Are you a Simulink/MATLAB specialist with a love of mathematics who wants to work on the most interesting problems in motorsport? This role is open to candidates with extremely high mathematical skills and credentials, who have excelled academically with demonstrable achievement.

Our client plays a pivotal role in transforming the performance strategies of motorsport teams, including those in Formula 1, Formula E, Indy Car, LMP, and various other series.

You will immerse yourself in the intricacies of cutting-edge simulation tools and unravel the secrets behind leading vehicles in the motorsport industry. Your work will involve vehicle dynamics simulation including thermal and mechanical tyre modelling, race regulation changes, battery constraints, energy optimisation, and brake/throttle/virtual controls, to name a few. A strong background in mathematics and software engineering is a fundamental requirement for potential candidates.

Duties will include:

  1. Engaging with clients to enhance their comprehension of vehicle performance
  2. Maximising the utility of cutting-edge tools
  3. Identifying and resolving bugs reported by clients or discovered through in-house usage
  4. Introducing new features as per client requests
  5. Utilising innovative components to create fresh simulation approaches crucial for achieving competitive success

Skills & Experience:

  1. Thrive on working from your own initiative and capable of working effectively in a fully remote role.
  2. Keen passion for motorsport, Formula 1, Formula E, Indy Car or similar.
  3. Demonstrable expertise in physical modelling, showcasing a deep understanding of the mathematics and physics underpinning physical systems.
  4. Extremely mathematical minded and demonstrably skilled in applied and theoretical maths and physics.

Salary and Benefits:

  1. Salary DoE - we are looking at candidates at a range of levels.
  2. Fully remote working and to hours that suit you (you really can work anywhere - some of the team base themselves from ski resorts, others from the beach).
  3. Using world-leading technologies.
  4. Working with key figures in motorsports.
  5. Flexible working.

This is a great opportunity to move into a relaxed, supportive and elite team where you can enjoy working on longer-term projects rather than the week-by-week tight schedule of race improvement within a motorsport team.
