Job summary

Prospero Teaching are seeking experienced Maths Tutors to work in or around Leighton Buzzard, delivering 1:1 tuition tailored for children with a range of SEN or behavioural needs. You will create, plan and deliver lessons to bridge gaps in maths and rebuild confidence, with sessions typically lasting 1–3 hours, at home or in community settings around Leighton Buzzard.

Candidates should have QTS/QLTS/PGCE/EYFS or equivalent, 6 months+ UK school experience, and be able to obtain safeguarding

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent.
• 6 months+ experience working in a UK school.
• Up to date safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable)

Maths Tutors - Leighton Buzzard

Prospero Teaching are looking for experienced Maths Tutors in or around the Leighton Buzzard area, to provide tuition for children who may have a range of special educational needs or behavioural needs. Specialising in the subject of Maths.

As a Tutor, you must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lesson to bridge gaps in pupil's education and boost engagement and attainment levels. Most of these pupils will have been out of education for some time, so their confidence levels may be very low. It is your responsibility to reengage them in their learning and offer structure back into their daily routine.

The students that require support are often SEN pupils with EHCP's. Tuition often takes place at home and will be in and around Leighton Buzzard. A strong background in supporting SEN pupils with autism, SEMH, and complex needs would be essential for this role.

• Full time/part time - Part time and full time depending on availability
• Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate 25 per hour. The hourly rate will be in line with professional pay scales where these are available or based on experience if they are not available.
• Hours - Working hours can differentiate, minimum 1 hour per session and a maximum of 3 hours per session

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent
• 6 months+ experience working in a UK school
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)

To be eligible for this role, the potential Maths Tutors MUST:

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references.
• Have access to a personal computer and the internet.
