Job Title: Maths Tutor Post 16
Location: Carlisle
Salary Range: £110 - £175 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start: Immediate
Contract: Daily Supply, Long-Term

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Post-16 Maths Tutor in Carlisle to support learners in achieving their Maths qualifications and building crucial numeracy skills for life, employment, and further education. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with young adults and making a tangible impact on their progress.

As a Post-16 Maths Tutor, you will work with small groups or individual learners to deliver targeted support in preparation for GCSE resits or Functional Skills Maths exams. Your role will be to break down barriers to learning and help each student develop confidence and competence in mathematical thinking.

Responsibilities:

• Support Individual Learning: Help implement personalised learning plans.
• Provide Targeted Support: Offer 1:1 and small group assistance tailored to student needs.
• Monitor Progress: Track student development and adjust support as required.
• Collaborate with Staff and Families: Work closely with teachers, support teams, and parents/carers.
• Create a Positive Environment: Help build a space where students feel safe, respected, and encouraged.
• Engage Learners: Use a variety of strategies to maintain student interest and adapt to different learning styles.
• Keep Accurate Records: Maintain documentation of student progress and share insights with staff.

Requirements:

• Strong subject knowledge in Maths up to GCSE level or equivalent.
• Experience working with post-16 learners or in further education settings is highly desirable.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles and needs.
• Excellent communication, patience, and motivational skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Competitive daily rates of £110 - £175 (dependent on experience).
