We have a great opportunity available to join Novus Gower, our prison education provider at HMP Parc, working as a Maths Tutor within the Young People\'s unit. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 40 hours per week.

Site Information

HMP Parc Prison is a Category B men\'s prison located in Bridgend, Wales. The prison accommodates individuals who have been convicted of various offenses requiring secure custody and rehabilitation. The prisons aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe at all times. The prison\'s mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Hold a teaching qualification and, where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
  • Hold a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Have experience of creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners
  • Have experience of achieving quality targets
  • Have experience of producing accurate and timely reports
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills for positive team working
  • Have excellent organisational skills to prioritise workload, and meet deadlines and targets
