Maths Tutor

Full-time, Permanent (25 days holiday, 3 days at Christmas, contributory pension)
The Role:
We re recruiting for a Maths Tutor to deliver high-quality Functional Skills and GCSE Maths lessons across a range of learning environments. You ll be supporting learners to achieve their potential by creating an inclusive, supportive classroom and using engaging teaching methods.
Duties:

  • Plan, deliver and assess effective Maths lessons tailored to learner needs.
  • Carry out initial and ongoing assessments to inform personalised learning plans.
  • Use inclusive strategies to support learners with SEND, behavioural challenges or other barriers.
  • Provide constructive feedback and track progress to drive improvement.
  • Identify learners at risk of underachievement and put timely interventions in place.
  • Create a positive classroom environment that promotes confidence and high expectations.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop resources and share best practice.
  • Deliver sessions across different centres and to a range of learner profiles.

Required Skills:

  • Recognised teaching qualification and subject-specific qualifications for Functional Skills and/or GCSE delivery.
  • Experience working with disengaged or hard-to-reach learners.
  • Strong behaviour and classroom management skills.
  • Able to engage and motivate diverse learner groups.
  • Confident using assessment data to plan and support learner progress.
  • Resilient, adaptable and reflective in your teaching practice.
  • Committed to professional development and collaborative working.
  • Flexible and willing to travel across sites when needed.
