Job summary

Learning Curve Group is seeking a Maths Tutor in Sheffield to support learners in GCSE and Functional Skills maths. You will join a nationwide team, delivering tailored lessons and building confidence in maths across groups and individuals.

The role focuses on progression, with support from managers and tutors to ensure an exceptional learning experience. 36-hour week, with flexibility and a commitment to safeguarding and quality assurance.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Maths Tutor with a Level 3 specialism.
  • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience GCSE/Functional Skills.
  • Teaching qualification (Level 3) required.
  • Driving licence desirable for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver GCSE and Functional Skills maths sessions that are engaging and effective.
  • Assess learners' starting points and identify development needs.
  • Plan and deliver tailored learning experiences meeting internal and external expectations.
  • Complete ILPs with SMART targets and regular reviews.
  • Maintain registers, reviews and performance documentation.

Role Information

As a Maths Tutor, you will be pivotal in supporting learners develop their maths skills and confidence, guiding them through the process of achieving nationally recognised qualifications. You'll join a nationwide team of maths and English tutors, working closely with them to create a learning experience tailored to individual and group needs. You'll have the flexibility and opportunity to make this role your own, bringing your creativity and passion into every lesson you deliver. Additionally, you'll receive support from a subject specialist manager, as well as vocational managers and tutors, working together to deliver an exceptional learning experience.

We are currently looking to recruit a part time English Tutor to join our Maths & English division within Learning Curve Group, in this role you will work a total of

DUTIES
  • Deliver engaging, inspirational and effective GCSE and Functional Skills maths sessions.
  • Assess each learner's starting point and identify their development needs.
  • Plan and deliver tailored learning experiences that meet both internal and external expectations.
  • Complete Individual Learning Plans with SMART targets and regular review points.
  • Complete administrative tasks including learner registers, reviews, and performance documentation.
  • Collaborate with vocational colleagues to support learners with retention, achievement, and progression.
  • Ensure assessments and documentation meet awarding body and organisational requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings, standardisation, and internal moderation activities.
  • Promote safe working practices, in line with safeguarding and health and safety legislation.
  • Continuously develop your skills through CPD opportunities.
  • Deliver CPD based upon your unique skills and experience.
  • Create a learning environment that inspires a new perspective for learners and supports their transition to the workplace or further study
  • Conduct your role in line with the company values and expected behaviours
  • Promote equal opportunities and recognition of diversity throughout the company
  • Comply with the Safeguarding, Prevent and Health and Safety Policies and be vigilant to potential concerns and risks at all times
