Job summary

SENDhelp in Dorking, Surrey is seeking a dedicated Maths Teacher to support pupils aged 9–16 with SEMH needs. The role focuses on delivering Maths across KS2–KS4 in a specialist setting, emphasising personalised teaching within small groups and strong behavioural support.

The ideal candidate will bring QTS or QTLS and demonstrated resilience, emotional intelligence, and a passion for building relationships with SEND learners to foster progress in Maths and confidence.

Qualifications

• QTS or QTLS qualification required.
• Experience teaching Maths to GCSE/Functional Skills.
• Experience in SEMH settings or similar.

Responsibilities

• Plan creative, accessible Maths lessons that make learning relevant and achievable.
• Teach across KS2, KS3 and KS4 according to individual starting points.
• Prepare pupils for GCSE Maths and alternative accreditation pathways.
• Identify gaps in knowledge and use assessment to plan targeted teaching.
• Differentiate for pupils with differing academic levels.
• Build positive relationships while maintaining boundaries.
