Job summary

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent with a teaching qualification.
• Proven ability to teach outstanding lessons across the 11–18 range with strong classroom management.
• Ability to work with staff to further the department.
• Excellent personal organisation and time management skills.
• Understanding of key national education policies and issues.
• Ability to inspire high achievement across diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to improving own and others' performance through CPD.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality maths teaching and learning, helping all students achieve outstanding outcomes.
• Plan and deliver differentiated maths lessons across key stages, following the curriculum.
• Potential to take on leadership responsibilities or a TLR for the right candidate.
• Assess, record and report student progress with effective feedback.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the maths department.
• Participate in department meetings, staff training and school CPD.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Headteacher for Maths and Lead Practitioner to drive excellence.
• Create a positive classroom environment with high expectations for all students.
• Uphold the ethos and policies of The King Edmund School.
