Job summary

Jane Austen College in Norwich seeks an outstanding Maths Teacher to deliver up to KS4 within the knowledge-rich curriculum. You will collaborate with the Maths team to drive standards, support pupil progress and deliver high-quality teaching with a focus on SEND/EAL needs.

The role suits both experienced teachers and those early in their career, with opportunities for professional development and involvement in enrichment activities across the Trust.

Qualifications

• QTS and appropriate degree required.
• Qualified Teacher Status or on track to achieve it.
• Knowledge of Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, SEND and Child Protection.
• Clear communication and ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Subject knowledge to undergraduate level with varied teaching approaches.
• Experience teaching Maths in a secondary setting (11-16).
• Experience as form tutor and involvement in pupil personal development.
• Postgraduate qualification in Maths or teaching subject.
• Experience teaching Sixth Form or FE is desirable.
• Experience examining the subject for an exam board.
• Ability to offer enrichment activities and use digital resources for teaching.

Responsibilities

• Teach Maths up to KS4 and deliver the curriculum.
• Collaborate with colleagues and the Maths team on curriculum delivery.
• Attend meetings, QA processes and school events outside normal hours.
• Promote the Trust and Academy ethos and safety standards.
• Monitor pupil progress, safeguarding, welfare and behaviour.
• Act as form tutor and deliver pastoral programmes.
• Prepare pupils for examinations and provide revision support.
• Plan collaboratively, set homework, and adapt for SEND/EAL.
• Assess pupil progress and provide reports and references.
• Contribute to enrichment activities and departmental discussions.
