About UsWe are a large SEMH school in Wandsworth, providing specialist education for students aged 5 19. Our secondary phase offers a highly structured, supportive environment where students aged re-engage with learning through nurturing relationships, targeted interventions, and a personalised curriculum.
About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated maths teacher to join our school, delivering high-quality teaching that builds numeracy, confidence, and problem-solving skills. Using our structured long-term plan, you will support students to develop essential mathematical knowledge while adapting the curriculum to meet individual learning and emotional needs.
You will:
Deliver engaging, differentiated Maths lessons based on the KS3 and KS4 plan (Number, Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, Ratio & Proportion)
Adapt your teaching for SEMH learners, supporting behaviour, engagement and progress
Use Team Teach or other strategies to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
Build strong, consistent relationships with students, staff, and families
Track progress and respond to academic or pastoral needs promptly
Essential:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Deep understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Maths curriculum and how to adapt it effectively
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills with SEMH learners
Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
Desirable:
Specialist training or accreditation in SEMH, ASD, Dyscalculia or similar
Two years' experience teaching Maths, preferably within a SEN/SEMH or alternative provision setting
Experience using Team Teach or similar positive handling techniques
Strong ICT skills to support planning and delivery
