Location: East of England, Essex, Southend on Sea

Job Type: Permanent, expected to work Full-Time hours

Job Duties:
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and effective Mathematics lessons for students in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the varying needs and abilities of students with special educational needs
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their learning goals
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals to create individualised learning plans for students
  • Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences and professional development opportunities
Required Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Mathematics
  • Experience teaching Mathematics to students with special educational needs
  • Knowledge of SEN teaching strategies and methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or related field
  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN) teaching (desirable)
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience teaching Mathematics in an SEN school
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong understanding of the UK national curriculum for Mathematics
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
  • Experience in using assistive technology and resources to support SEN students
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional training or certification in dyscalculia support
  • Experience working with students who have experienced trauma
Working Conditions:

  • Potential for additional responsibilities such as extra-curricular activities or student mentoring

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
