Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join a forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Birmingham. This is a full-time, permanent role, and we are looking for an enthusiastic teacher who is committed to delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire students to achieve their full potential.

As a Mathematics Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching Key Stage 3, 4, and potentially Key Stage 5 (GCSE & A-Level). You will have the opportunity to help shape the mathematical journey of students, preparing them for further education, careers, and life beyond school.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons to students across KS3, KS4, and potentially KS5.
  2. Differentiate your teaching methods to cater for a diverse range of abilities and learning styles.
  3. Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and academic curiosity.
  4. Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
  5. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall teaching and learning experience.
  6. Maintain high expectations for student behaviour and achievement.
  7. Participate in school activities, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Person Specification:
  1. A relevant degree (e.g., Mathematics, Mathematics Education) or equivalent qualification.
  2. A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
  3. A passion for mathematics and the ability to inspire and engage students.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary school level (preferred but not essential).
  6. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
