Overview

Maths Teacher with QTS. SEMH School, Basingstoke. ASAP start - full-time contract - temp to perm.

Academics are recruiting on behalf of a small secondary school in Basingstoke who are looking to appoint a passionate and empathetic Maths Teacher to join them ASAP.

About the School

They are a short stay school for learners who have been permanently excluded, or are at risk of exclusion. They have the capacity to support up to 42 learners on site and also offer outreach services to support young people in mainstream schools who are facing barriers to inclusion. They also support up to 20 learners through home tuition who, for medical reasons, are unable to attend school.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver an exciting and engaging Maths curriculum that develops learners’ Maths knowledge and skills from KS3 to KS4.
  • Create an empathetic, supportive and inclusive learning environment suitable for learners with SEMH needs.
  • Differentiate teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs and promote positive outcomes for learners.
  • Contribute to outreach services and support students in mainstream settings where appropriate.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a Maths specialism.
  • Emotional intelligence, motivation, and the ability to engage learners in an alternative education setting.
  • Experience in SEN/SEMH is desirable; role is open to all candidates.
