Experienced Maths Teacher
Full‑Time | Stockton‑on‑Tees | Start Date: ASAP / January 2025
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maths Teacher to join a successful secondary school in the Stockton locality. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident practitioner who can deliver high‑quality teaching, raise attainment, and inspire a genuine love of mathematics in students across KS3 and KS4.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that stretch and challenge students of all abilities. You will play an active role in shaping the Maths curriculum, supporting departmental development, and ensuring strong progress and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Mathematics to KS3 and KS4, with consistently strong outcomes
- Plan, deliver and assess high‑quality lessons in line with curriculum requirements
- Use data effectively to monitor progress and implement targeted interventions
- Contribute to the ongoing development of schemes of work and resources
- Maintain excellent behaviour management and a positive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with the Maths department and wider school team
- Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and professional conduct
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Substantial experience teaching Maths in a UK secondary setting
- Proven track record of improving progress and attainment
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for mathematics
- Confidence in delivering challenge, stretch and support where needed
- Excellent communication, organisation and behaviour management skills
