Job summary

Dukes Wood School, part of Kedleston Group, near Newark in Nottinghamshire, is seeking a Maths Teacher. You will plan engaging Maths lessons, monitor progress, and work with parents and colleagues to support every pupil.

We welcome applications from those with QTS and a maths specialism, including candidates with SEND/ASC experience. A supportive, collaborative team and strong CPD opportunities are offered.

What you’ll be doing as a Maths Teacher:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge children and young people.

• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to ensure student success.

What we’re looking for:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• A qualification in SEND education is desirable
• Experience of working with children with SEND and ASC is ideal but applications from those working in mainstream settings are very welcome
• Experience in teaching Maths as a specialism
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate children and young people.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in teaching methods.

Who are we?

Dukes Wood School, part of Kedleston Group, is an independent specialist day school near Newark in Nottinghamshire, for children and young people aged between the ages of 9 and 17. We provide a safe learning environment for children and young people with a wide range of varying needs including social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), autism (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and attachment difficulties (AD).
