Job description

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Maths Teacher to join a successful department at a wonderful school. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Maths Teacher:

1. Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5, if applicable)
2. Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with departmental and school policies
3. Use data effectively to monitor progress, identify areas for development, and set challenging targets
4. Provide timely, constructive feedback to support pupil progress and attainment
5. Create a safe, stimulating and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning
6. Participate in the development of curriculum plans, schemes of work, and departmental initiatives
7. Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular activities, interventions and events
8. Attend and contribute to departmental, pastoral and whole-school meetings as required
9. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support learning and wellbeing
10. Uphold and model the school’s values, policies and expectations at all times
11. Engage in professional development and remain up to date with curriculum and pedagogy changes

Ideal Maths Teacher:

1. Has QTS and a relevant degree in Mathematics or a related subject
2. Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and a passion for teaching maths
3. Is reflective, resilient and driven to continually improve their practice
4. Has strong classroom management and the ability to inspire learners of all abilities
