Overview

Maths Skills Instructor (SEND - Adults 16+) – Location: Plymouth (In-Person). Contract: Temporary to Permanent. Pay: £24-£28 per hour. Start Date: ASAP.

Are you passionate about empowering adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve their goals in maths? Prospero Teaching are looking for a committed and approachable Maths Skills Instructor to support learners aged 16+ in developing their numeracy skills up to Functional Skills Level 3.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging, accessible maths sessions tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support learners working towards Functional Skills qualifications (Entry Level to Level 3).
  • Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that builds confidence and independence.
  • Track learner progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
Requirements
  • Minimum A Level in Maths (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with SEND learners, particularly adults (16+).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, flexible, and learner-centred approach.
  • QTS not required - we welcome applicants from a range of educational or support backgrounds.
