Job summary

Flexzo Teach in Slough is seeking a qualified Maths & Science (STEM) Tutor to join our talent pool for an in-person role at our dedicated tuition centre. You will deliver engaging lessons to students aged 8–18, covering 11+ preparation, GCSE, IGCSE and A‑Level maths and sciences.

You will adapt your teaching to individual learning styles, prepare learners for UK exams, and collaborate with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGCE, QTS) or equivalent.
• Deep knowledge of UK Maths/Science curricula up to GCSE/A-Level.
• DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one before onboarding.
• Direct experience teaching GCSE/IGCSE and A-Level STEM subjects.
• Minimum one year of formal teaching or tutoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach Maths and Sciences (Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics) across 11+ to A-Level.
• Explain complex concepts clearly and adapt to different learning styles.

As a STEM Tutor, you will deliver high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to different learning styles. This role is primarily focused on in-person delivery at our Slough centre, with opportunities for online/hybrid teaching.

• Teach Mathematics and Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics) across key stages, including 11+ preparation, GCSE, IGCSE, and A-Level.
• Explain advanced mathematical formulas, scientific theories, and practical applications clearly and enthusiastically.
• Adapt your teaching methods to suit individual learning paces, helping students build critical thinking and quantitative problem-solving skills.
• Prepare students thoroughly for major UK exams (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, etc.) using structured, syllabus-aligned lesson plans.

What You’ll Need

• A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), PGCE, QTS, or an equivalent recognized professional teaching qualification (ideally specializing in Mathematics, Science, or Secondary STEM Education).
• Deep knowledge of the UK Mathematics and/or Science curriculum up to GCSE/A-Level.
• Ability to travel regularly to the dedicated tuition centre in the Slough area for face-to-face sessions.
• A minimum of one year of formal teaching or tutoring experience.
• An Enhanced DBS certificate (or a willingness to obtain one before onboarding).
• A Master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Education.
• Direct experience teaching specific exam boards for GCSE/IGCSE and A-Level STEM subjects.
