Shape the future of young coders and computational thinkers in Slough

Flexzo Teach connects educational professionals with premier tutoring opportunities. We are currently seeking an inspiring, qualified Computer Science Tutor to join our talent pool for a dynamic role based at our dedicated tuition centre in Slough.

About the Setting

This setting is a vibrant, modern tuition academy providing high-quality academic support for students aged 8–18. Operating from a state-of-the-art facility in Slough as well as a global online platform, the academy helps primary and secondary pupils build coding confidence, master algorithmic thinking, and achieve outstanding exam results.

While the academy has a strong reputation across all core subjects, Computer Science is a rapidly growing and highly sought-after discipline. They specialise in early programming concepts, GCSE, IGCSE, and A-Level tuition, delivering structured, engaging lessons that empower local and international learners alike to thrive in a digital world.

As a Computer Science Tutor, you will deliver high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to different learning styles. This role is primarily focused on in-person delivery at our Slough centre, with opportunities for online/hybrid teaching.

  • Teach Computer Science theory and practical programming across key stages, including GCSE, IGCSE, and A-Level.
  • Explain advanced topics such as algorithms, data structures, computer systems, networks, and cybersecurity clearly and enthusiastically.
  • Guide students through practical coding languages (ideally Python, Java, or C#) and help them master debugging and software design.
  • Adapt your teaching methods to suit individual learning paces, helping students build critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Prepare students thoroughly for major UK exams (AQA, OCR, Pearson Edexcel, etc.), including support for A-Level Non-Exam Assessment (NEA) programming projects.
What You’ll Need

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), PGCE, QTS, or an equivalent recognised professional teaching qualification (ideally specialising in Computer Science, ICT, or STEM Education). Candidates with a strong Computer Science degree and extensive tutoring experience will also be considered.
  • Deep knowledge of the UK Computer Science curriculum up to A-Level.
  • Ability to travel regularly to the dedicated tuition centre in the Slough area for face-to-face sessions.
  • A minimum of one year of formal teaching or tutoring experience.
  • An Enhanced DBS certificate (or a willingness to obtain one before onboarding).
  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Education.
  • Direct experience guiding students through the A-Level NEA (independent programming project).
  • Familiarity with specific exam boards for GCSE/IGCSE and A-Level Computer Science.
Why Work Here?
  • Teach in a well-resourced, modern, and supportive physical environment in Slough equipped with excellent tech facilities.
  • Opportunities to blend your local face-to-face schedule with global online tutoring.
  • A straightforward process featuring a virtual interview and a brief teaching demonstration to showcase your pedagogical style.
  • Enhance your teaching portfolio with a reputable, results-driven academic provider.
