Job description

The Bridge Academy is a well-established Alternative Provision setting based in Lichfield, Staffordshire. Part of the Arthur Terry Learning Partnership, our academy supports pupils aged 4 to 16 who have been excluded from mainstream education or are on short-term placements.

Our mission is to ensure all pupils become School Ready, Work Ready and Life Ready. We provide a tailored curriculum that balances academic achievement with the development of key social, emotional, and behavioural skills—empowering young people to reintegrate successfully into mainstream settings or progress confidently into further education, employment, or training.
We are seeking committed and enthusiastic teachers of Maths, Science, or Humanities to join our dedicated team. These are excellent opportunities for experienced practitioners or ECTs who are passionate about transforming lives through inclusive and impactful education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Create a positive and supportive learning environment, tailored to the individual needs of learners.
  • Support pupils’ academic progress alongside their personal development and emotional well-being.
  • Work closely with pastoral and therapeutic teams to help address barriers to learning. Contribute to the wider life of the academy and uphold our values of respect, responsibility, and resilience.

What you will need to succeed

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths, Science, or Humanities.
  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs (desirable but not essential).
  • To be committed to keeping our students safe
  • Be highly motivated and passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people
  • Be emotionally intelligent with the ability to build strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders
